Hamworthy Heating made a commitment to give every employee the opportunity to undertake a day of voluntary work during their normal working hours.

Volunteers are crucial to small organisations and charities and we hope to pass on the skills and knowledge we have as a long-standing British commercial boiler manufacturer to these organisations.

In 2015 we were delighted that our community programme won us a Dorset Business Award for 'Business Engagement with the Community'

You can see some of the community projects and fundraising activities we have been involved in below.

The community in which we operate is important to us. We run a weekly pondwatch at local nature reserve, Hatch Pond. Our staff work closely with Poole Borough Council to help with basic maintenance such as litter picking, watering plants and reporting any concerns to the council. We also take part in tree planting, beach litter picking and other community activities.

Young people are the future. It is important we give the next generation the skills and opportunities to succeed. We get involved with mentoring students from local schools as part of the Young Enterprise charity and Enterprise and Skills Challenge.

In 2017, we raised £2,050 for our Charity of the Year Julia's House. This financed hospice sessions during the school holidays for nine school-age children.

In 2016, we raised over £1000 for our Charity of the Year Gully’s Place. The money was used to provide grieving families with memory boxes.

From 2013 to 2015 we supported Poole-based Forest Holme Hospice, which is dedicated to caring for patients with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses. From providing boilers for their refurbishment to the Great Hamworthy Bakeoff, we donated more than £13,000 of money and equipment.
