Not enough space for a biomass boiler? Why not consider a biofuel boiler?

Liquid biofuel boilers are a great choice for people who wish to reduce their reliance on fossil fuels and lower their carbon emissions.

What is biofuel?

Liquid biofuel is a fuel of organic origin made from sustainable feed stocks. It requires much less storage space than other renewable energy heating solutions such as biomass wood chips or pellets. This makes it particularly suited to commercial heating applications in city centres where storage is limited and space at a premium.

You can read about a development in Hoxton, East London who chose a Hamworthy liquid biofuel boiler as the greenest heating option for their premises.

Which liquid biofuel can I use?

Suitable classifications of liquid biofuel for use with our steel boiler burners are FAME (Fatty Acid Methyl Ester) which is derived from vegetable oil, and RME (Rape Methyl Ester) blends up to B50, which is derived from used cooking fats.

The biofuel boilers on the right can accommodate up to B100 concentrations of liquid biofuel for commercial heating applications. Burners must be matched specifically to the fuel specification when ordering. Other burner options have a choice of fuel including natural gas, LPG (propane) or oil. Selected models are also suitable for dual fuel arrangements.
