Janis Roe, Gemma Hitchens and Sam Boshier from Hamworthy's charity team.

Staff from Hamworthy got together to participate in Macmillan’s Biggest Ever Coffee Morning on Friday, 28th September. This event is organised annually and raised a total of over £27m last year.

While one part of the staff got baking, the others enjoyed eating what was put on the table and donated generously. Macmillan is charity of the year of Groupe Atlantic UK & ROI which Hamworthy is part of.

Known for its ambitious bakers, Hamworthy employees picked up their whisks and spatulas again for this year’s Coffee Morning. Dorset apple cake, apple and pecan strudel, chocolate brownies as well as fresh strawberries and cream cupcakes were the mouth-watering varieties provided by the internal sales team. Semi-professional baker Aimee from finance impressed with her crunchie and Jammie Dodger cupcakes, while Dave from technical proved with his cheese biscuits that he doesn’t only know how to advise customers on boiler efficiencies. Sales administrator Chris’ Dorset apple cake proved to be especially popular - it was the first that ran out.

Sam Boshier, marketing manager and charity coordinator at Hamworthy who helped organise the event, said:

“We were happy to see so many different bakes on the table, people enjoying themselves and donating for an important cause.
It’s not only the money raising part – we moved into new offices last year and now that we’ve got a roomy kitchen, events like this bring everyone together. We even invited our neighbours from Enhanced over. They did not only relish the cakes but also donated generously. We’d like to thank everyone involved having made this a success.”

Hamworthy raised £124 with its coffee morning, with all companies across Groupe Atlantic UK participating, a total of £1,276 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support.
