Hamworthy Heating moves production facilities

Hamworthy has relocated its production to a state of the art UK centre for the design, development and production of commercial boilers in Hull.

As a long-standing British manufacturer with roots dating back to 1914, Hamworthy Heating has undergone a few changes since its emergence in the 1960s as a standalone company. In 2008, Hamworthy became a part of Groupe Atlantic, a major European and international manufacturing company with a similar ethos.

Authority in the heating and hot water sector

Groupe Atlantic was founded in the 1960s by two engineers, just as Hamworthy Engineering in 1914. They’re now one of the market leaders in the European heating and hot water industry. The Group has been continually expanding its brand portfolio, most recently with the acquisition of Ideal Boilers, Keston and Gledhill in 2015. Hamworthy Heating and these companies now form part of Groupe Atlantic UK & ROI, a growing UK division.

Manufacturing expertise

Drawing from the experience and know-how of all brands, the decision to benefit from operating a single, state of the art UK centre for the design, development, and production of commercial boilers was made. In April 2017, this Hull-based facility became the new home of Hamworthy boiler production.

This new facility advances already successful manufacturing processes and allow greater capacity and flexibility to build boilers to Hamworthy customers’ requirements. Reliability of Hamworthy boilers is ensured by dedicated production lines using bar code tracking, no fault forward, six sigma quality systems and extensive end of line testing.

Since April 2017, all Hamworthy products, including spare parts, have been distributed from the Groupe Atlantic UK & ROI site in Hull.

Committed to quality products, people and support

Hamworthy products continue to be designed, tested and manufactured here in the UK. The production of the first new product, the Upton floor standing condensing boiler, started last week in Hull.

Hamworthy Heating’s headquarters remains in Poole, with sales, services, spares, technical, despatch, and accounts teams providing customer support. Field-based sales and service engineers, too, continue to be local contacts for all things Hamworthy.
