Chris Barrest is Hamworthy's new addition to the sales team.

As part of its ambitions to grow its salesforce, Hamworthy has recruited Chris Barrett as new area sales manager, with experience in not only selling heating and hot water products but managing companies, too.

Coming from a technical school, Chris entered the heating industry at age 19 and initially worked as a sales assistant before taking on management of the newly set up heating and plumbing departments as Lightside Manager at the then Graham Reeves branch in Newton Abbot, Devon. After a decade, he moved on to Lochinvar, selling boilers and water heaters as area sales manager within the South and South West of England. After being promoted to UK Sales Manager, he was not only managing the sales team nationally but also implementing the water heating sizing programme and CPD seminar projects for which he wrote all content.

Nearly two decades later, he joined Smedegaard Pumps as General Manager and later became the responsible UK Director. Following the sale of the entire Smedegaard Group by its owners, Chris moved on to become the South West area sales manager, selling water heaters, boilers and CHP units for AO Smith UK (Adveco).

Most recently, he worked for heating and hot water specialist ACV as a business development manager. This company was acquired by Hamworthy’s parent organisation Groupe Atlantic in 2018.

About his new role, Chris commented:

“Throughout my career I have regularly come across Hamworthy boilers and water heaters and viewed them as quality products, manufactured by a professional quality company. I have always enjoyed assisting engineers and designers to provide the correct technical solution by using products that deliver exactly what is needed to meet the specific needs of the project. Hamworthy’s comprehensive range of commercial heating products certainly allows me to continue to do this which is why I was delighted to join.”
