Choices in direct / indirect fired water heating
Separating domestic hot water generation from the space heating system is acknowledged as good practice, to reduce heat losses from the distribution system and to combat the use of oversized boilers when space heating is not required.
For many years, Hamworthy direct fired water heaters have proven to be durable and reliable, and now the Dorchester range has been extended to offer even more choice. Storage capacities range from 265 to 372 litres and the water heaters are suitable for natural gas, LPG or Oil. Product options include electrical anode protection, unvented supply, top to bottom pump recirculation, frost protection and close temperature control.
Where hot water and space heating is combined Powerstock calorifiers are available in a range of outputs to suit most applications. Two or more units can easily be installed in a modular configuration, where there is a demand for very high peak loads, and they are suitable for use with conventional and alternative energy sources.
